Donald Wolfe

Celebration of life for Donald Wolfe, 75, of Edwards, was held on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at at the O’Leary Funeral Home, Canton, with Rev. Robert Phillips and Pastor Mark Gilbert, officiating. 

Burial will be in the East Pitcairn Cemetery in the spring. Don passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, while at home while under the care of Hospice of the St. Lawrence Valley.

Contributions in his memory may be made to the Richard E. Winter Cancer Treatment Center or to the East Pitcairn Wesleyan Church.

Surviving Don are his wife Sharon of Edwards; two sons, Donald Jr. and wife Miri of Bartlesville, OK; Paul and wife Mary of Marion ID and Carol Halley and husband Ron of Overton, NB; and several grandchildren. He is also survived by his adopted daughters, Terri Spring and her children; and Diane Wolfe and her children; by a grandson Nicolas Wolfe, whom he has raised as his own; a sister Joyce Scott and husband John of Stephenville, NY, sister-in-law from his first marriage Diane Edwards and brother-in-law Rev. Robert Phillips and wife Michelle.

He is predeceased by his parents, Alice and Howard Wolfe and by his first wife Doris.

Donald was born, June 27, 1939 in Watervliet, the son of Howard and Alice Wolfe. He graduated from Watervliet Schools and from Allentown Wesleyan College. Donald was the pastor of the Colton Wesleyan Church for 15 years before moving to Mission, S.D., to complete missionary work. He married Sharon Phillips on July 12, 2005, and the couple returned the New York in 2006 when he retired.

Don enjoyed hunting, fishing and music.
