Trevor O’Brien, age 20, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, in Gillette, Wyo. He was born in Gillette on March 28, 1995, to Michael J. O’Brien and Crystal Haukaas and was the eldest of two children.
Born and raised in Gillette his whole life, he graduated from Westwood School in 2013. Trevor had many friends and family members that will always remember him for his bright personality and that wonderful, infectious smile that would light up any room. He was extremely caring, often cheering on others and encouraging them to be their best. Trevor had a heart of gold and would do anything to help someone in need. He most recently worked at Union Wireless where his love of helping people was able to shine. As many of his co-workers have stated, he made their days better just by being there.
His love of singing took him on many adventures. Recently he performed a song at a local open mic session and even tried out for the popular TV show The Voice. He sang beautifully and we will forever cherish the many video clips where he is the star of the show. If he wasn’t out driving around talking and singing with his friends, he might be found at one of his favorite stops Dairy Queen, Starbucks or Jimmy John’s. He was always on the go, driving way too fast, singing to his hearts content and always wearing that bright, beautiful smile. Trevor truly knew who he was and never let anyone try to change him. He was kind, caring, and courageous and will be very missed by all that knew him.
Trevor is survived by his mother; Crystal Haukaas, father; Michael J. O’Brien, sister; Melissa O’Brien, grandmothers; Ruth Blake and Helen Moran; Grandpa Bill Pedersen and Grandma Rhonda Pedersen. He is preceded in death by grandfather; Delbert Blake, grandfather; Ronald Moran, great-uncle; Orvie Blake, great-aunt; Lee Blake, aunt; Margie Beauchamp, and cousin; Michael Jacob Aune.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made in Trevor’s name. Memorials and condolences may be sent in care of Gillette Memorial Chapel 210 West 5th Street, Gillette, WY 82716. Condolences may also be sent via internet at www.gillettememorialchapel.com
