Calvin A. Neiss

Calvin A. Neiss, 90, Rapid City, died Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at Golden Livingcenter Black Hills.

He was born January 20, 1926, in Rosebud to John and Laurine (Murray) Neiss. He was raised in that area and graduated from Mission High School in 1945.

Calvin married Edith E. Kinsley on February 7, 1948, in Rosebud. He began his career as an ammunition Inspector for the U.S. Government in 1952 retiring in 1975. They then moved to Rapid City where they have resided since.

He was a volunteer at the food bank for 13 years.

Calvin is survived by his wife, Edith, Rapid City; 5 daughters, Jaundel Moore, Dubuque, IA, Barbara Rowland, Rapid City, Diane Belk, Freeport, IL, Judy Bergman, Phoenix, AZ, Rena Leite, Rapid City; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday, March 14, 2016, at St. Therese the Little Flower Catholic Church with Rev. Bill Zandri as celebrant. Burial was at Pine Lawn Memorial Park.

In Lieu of Flowers, a memorial has been established.
