Office of President of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe

Scott O. Herman, President

On June 9, 2022, the Rosebud Sioux Tribal Council enacted RST Resolution No. 2022-181, allowing the rebate from the Rosebud Sioux Tribe-Foreign Cattle Fee  reserve to address the severe economic hardship caused to our local agricultural producers from the severe drought conditions during the years 2021 and 2022.

The Rosebud Sioux Tribe will pay a rebate of foreign cattle taxes paid by cattle producers that have a vendor ID number and can produce receipts from payment of the foreign cattle taxes paid from 2013 until present year, 2022. RST Finance Office will begin accepting receipts on August 2, 2022, and will initiate the rebate process. Cattle producers who do not have a copy of their receipts but did pay the foreign cattle taxes shall receive rebate after tribal records are subject to review and reconciliation by the RST Revenue Department and RST Finance Department. The reconciliation process should take about two weeks. All cattle producers shall also receive a Form 1099G for foreign cattle tax rebates.

Please contact Whitney Meek, Program Director, RST Revenue Department, (605) 747-5045, to obtain a vendor ID number if you do not have one or if you have any questions regarding the collection of the foreign cattle taxes.

Please contact Brenda Antoine, RST Finance Department, (605)747-2381, if you have question regarding financial issues or payment information.
