The June 11, 2018 Regular Meeting of the Todd County School District Board of Education was held in the Curriculum Center of the Administration Building.
Board President Sandra K. Dillon called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance. All motions carried unanimously, unless otherwise noted.

Motion by Whipple, second by Bordeaux to adopt the agenda with additions.
CELEBRATE DISTRICT SUCCESSES:
- TCHS Student Caelyn Valandra-Prue for receiving a National Award in Track.
- Curriculum Presentation by Sunrise Black Bull, for White Buffalo Calf Woman Society, of “No Means No” Sexual Abuse Training for Middle and High School Students. White Buffalo Calf Director Janet Routzen offered funding for Trauma Training for TCSD Counselors. Katie Edwards of University of Hampshire, Leon Leader Charge and Damon Leader Charge also gave support for the program.
Motion by Whipple, second by Bordeaux to support the “No Means No” program.
- Kevin DeCora asked to use the Suicide Prevention Program, “ASSIST,” a two-day training for adults in the School District, at Todd County High School.
- The Board was asked for a letter of support to apply for a grant for the My Journey Health Education Curriculum, used in the Middle School.
Motion by Whipple, second by Bordeaux to provide the letter.
- The 4Rosebud Group gave a follow-up on a previous presentation requesting Parent & Family Engagement and Lakota Language & Culture in the schools. Jim Curran, Sunny Clifford and Sage Fast Dog spoke in support of it.
Motion by Whipple, second by Bordeaux to implement the 4Rosebud requests.
He Dog Principal Vikki Eagle Bear gave a presentation on enrollment numbers for next year.
Leon Leader Charge and Parmelee Community Vice President Teryl Running Horse spoke about a petition being circulated, requesting the new He Dog School being located in Parmelee. Lynnette Murray also discussed the location. Rosebud Sioux Tribal Vice President Scott Herman said people need to come to an agreement on a location very soon, as the existing building is condemned and will be demolished. TCSD Business Manager Chad Blotsky advised that the money is available for the project now, and the longer it is postponed, the more expensive it will be.

Motion by Whipple, second by Bordeaux to approve a donation request from Claudia Chasing Hawk to attend INMED Program in Grand Forks, ND, June 11-July 20, 2018, in the amount of $300.00. Room and board are paid by the program, therefore, the donation will be used for field trips and incidentals.
